The main objective of the project is to explore the possibilities and design an effective exhibition space at the future TU/e library, which provides service that enhances research and education at TU/e, for both internal and external people. The space, which can be called a knowledge agora, will consist of, but not limited to, exhibiting, meeting, discussing and sharing points, supported with different types of interactive devices and digitized content.
After going through multiple design cycles and validating the outcome with experts of both Industrial Design and Bio medical engineering the final concept was developed.. When you walk through an exhibition with a lot of scientific information you want to collect as much information which has value for you. When you walk towards a poster you can hold your TU/e library pass with an RFID chip in it for the poster. While holding your pass in front of the scanner you get light feedback which indicates that your information is on your “pass”.
With your collected information in the library pass you are now able to show this information by putting your library pass on the interactive table. This table provides you with information about the research, about the researchers, and more. Because this system works with a database, and an interactive display, there is far more possible than we have shown. Think of the possibility to link your own work to the work of a researcher.
